How does Refer-a-friend work?
It’s super simple. When a mate opens a new Go Account using your unique referral code and meets the Welcome Offer Criteria, you’ll score 5,000 bonus Virgin Money Points. They’ll get 5,000 Bonus Points too!
Just follow these steps:
- Head to the Rewards Hub in the Virgin Money app
- Tap ‘Refer A Friend’ to grab your unique referral link
- Share it with your mates
- Your friend opens a new Go Account using your code and meets the Welcome Offer Criteria
A few things to know:
- Bonus Points are added within 5 business days once your friend meets the criteria
- You can refer as many friends as you like, but you’ll only earn bonus points for the first 5 successful referrals per month (that’s up to 25,000 bonus points!)
- If your friend doesn’t meet the Welcome Offer Criteria, you won’t receive the referral bonus

What is a debit card?
A debit card is a payment card that allows you to make transactions directly from your everyday bank account balance. When you open a Virgin Money Go Account, you will receive debit card which is accepted for online & in-person transactions globally and to withdraw cash from over 2.2 million ATMs worldwide.
Unlike a credit card, a debit card uses the funds you already have in your transaction account, so you're spending money you actually own, rather than borrowing it. It's a convenient, secure and easy way to manage your everyday spending.
Can I use online banking with my Go Account?
In short: yes, via the mobile app, but we currently don’t have internet banking via our website. The mobile banking app has everything you need for everyday banking, and you can manage your transaction and savings accounts anytime. Whether you need to check your accounts, use it for paying bills, to transfer funds, set up savings goals or access Virgin Money Rewards, you can do all this, and more, via the Virgin Money app.
In fact, it’s such a great tool that you can also get alerts and insights into things like whether you’ve activated your bonus interest rate for the month, and when you’re getting close to spending budgets you’ve set.
