How do I earn Virgin Money Points?

Earn points by using eligible Virgin Money products. That includes tapping your debit card, meeting savings goals, referring friends, and activating bonus offers in the app. You can also earn points with selected home loans and Virgin Money Rewards Credit Cards. Just make sure your transactions are eligible; things like ATM withdrawals and BPAY payments won’t earn points.

Which products are eligible for earning Points?

You can earn Virgin Money Rewards Points with these products:

Each product earns points in a slightly different way, so it’s worth checking the rewards terms and conditions to see what’s included.

What counts as an eligible transaction?

Eligible transactions include most everyday purchases like groceries, petrol, dining out, and shopping online. You won’t earn points on BPAY, cash withdrawals, balance transfers, or government charges. For debit card spend, the transaction must be settled (not pending) and not reversed.

Can I earn points with a joint account?

Yup, totally. If you share a Go Account with someone else, eligible debit card transactions will earn points — and they’ll be split 50/50 between both account holders. For credit cards and home loans, points are usually awarded to the primary account holder.

How do I earn Bonus Points?

You can earn Bonus Points by meeting savings goals, activating partner offers, booking travel via the app, or referring to a friend. Bonus Points are often available as limited-time promotions, so keep watch on the Virgin Money app for what's next.

When will my points be credited?

Most points show up in your rewards account within 1 – 5 business days of the eligible transaction being settled. Bonus or promotional points (like referrals or travel bookings) might take a little longer, depending on the offer.

How many points can I earn each month?

There’s no monthly cap for earning points on everyday eligible spend. However, some bonuses, like the Refer-a-Friend program, do have limits. For example, you can earn referral points up to five times per calendar month.

Can I transfer my Points to Velocity Frequent Flyer?

For sure. You can convert your Virgin Money Rewards Points to Velocity Points at any time. Just link your Velocity Frequent Flyer account in the Virgin Money app and follow the transfer steps. Minimum transfer thresholds may apply.

Do Rewards Points expire?

Your Virgin Money Rewards Points don’t expire as long as your account's active, and in good shape. Close your product or drop out of the eligibility criteria, and you could lose them. Stay active, keep your points.

Where can I check my points balance?

You can track your Rewards Points anytime in the Virgin Money app. From the home screen, just tap on the Rewards tab to see your balance, transaction history, and available offers. You can also redeem points directly in the app.

Participation in the Virgin Money Rewards Program is subject to the Virgin Money Rewards Terms and Conditions.

*The Virgin Money Boost Saver Highest Variable Interest Rate is made up of:

Base Interest Rate of 0.05%p.a.;

Bonus Interest Rate of 4.65%p.a. if Monthly Criteria is met in the previous month; and

Notice Interest Rate of 0.30%p.a if the Lock Saver Feature is enabled.

32 days’ advance notice period applies to access funds when the Lock Saver Feature is enabled.

The Bonus Rate applies up to a combined total balance of $250,000 across all Boost Saver's that are held in the same name. Monthly Criteria will be met when both the following conditions are met:

Deposit at least $1,000 into your Go Account from another financial institution in the previous calendar month; and

Make at least 5 settled debit card purchases (not pending), direct debits or BPAY payments on your Go Account that settle in the previous calendar month from your Go Account.

Things you need to know

    1. You will earn 8 Virgin Money Standard Points for any settled debit card purchases (not pending), direct debits and BPAY payments from your Virgin Money Go Account and cash outs from a merchant’s point of sales terminal. For customers who open a Virgin Money Go Account jointly with another person, the points will be split and evenly allocated to both joint account holders of that account. For further information refer to our Virgin Money Rewards Terms and Conditions.
    2. From time to time, we may offer you the ability to earn Bonus Points or other benefits with selected partners. Specific offer terms will be set out individual conditions at the time the offer is made to you.
    3. You may redeem your points for a cash amount in AUD to be credited to your Virgin Money Go Account, Virgin Money Boost Saver, Virgin Money Grow Saver or eligible Virgin Money Credit Card. Once the funds have been credited to an account they cannot be reversed to Points.
    4. Pay with points is available for eligible transactions made within the last 90 days. Eligible transactions are BPay transactions on an eligible credit card and settled debit card purchases (not pending), direct debits and BPAY payments from your Virgin Money Go Account and cash outs from a merchant’s point of sales terminal. You must have sufficient points to be able to redeem the total value of the eligible transaction through pay with points. If you redeem your points, we will credit a cash amount equal to the selected transaction into your Virgin Money Go Account or eligible Virgin Money Credit Card Account that was used to make the original purchase. Once the funds have been credited to an account, they cannot be reversed to points. The cash amount reduces the credit card balance but does not count towards the next monthly repayment obligation. Pay with points is not available to additional credit cardholders.
    5. Gift Cards or eVouchers are facilitated by Ascenda Australia Pty Ltd and are subject to the Ascenda Terms and Conditions and voucher specific separate terms and conditions made available at the time of requesting the Gift Card and must be used with the reward provider specified on the gift card. Once points have been redeemed for a Gift Card, the Gift Card cannot be returned. Expiry dates will apply.
    6. You can redeem points for flights and hotels available in the Rewards Hub. Flight and Hotel bookings made through the Virgin Money Rewards Program are operated by Ascenda Australia Pty Ltd and subject to Ascenda’s additional Booking and Travel Terms. Individual flight and hotel bookings may be subject to further terms and conditions stipulated by Ascenda’s travel partners. These additional terms will be made available to you by Ascenda at the time the relevant booking is made. Cancellations and changes to bookings may not be possible and additional fees may apply which are disclosed in the Rewards Hub.
    7. Transferring points into a travel program is subject to the Virgin Money Rewards Terms and Conditions. You can transfer and convert your Virgin Money Points to a Travel Loyalty Program participant that that is held in your name, is active and is matched with the frequent flyer membership or loyalty account number you provide to us. Points cannot be transferred to another person or to an account held jointly with another person. Travel Loyalty Program’s loyalty points cannot be converted to Virgin Money Points. Minimum and maximum redemption rates are set by us and vary across each program. Points transferred to a Travel Loyalty Program will be governed and subject to the Travel Loyalty Program terms and conditions and once transferred cannot be reversed.
    8. Earn 5,000 Bonus Virgin Money Points when you introduce a Successful Referral who meets the Welcome Offer Criteria. Welcome Offer Criteria is subject to change. A successful referral must also:

· Have not, at any time previously held a Virgin Money Go Account or Virgin Money Grow Saver;

· Have used a unique referral link that is provided by Virgin Money as part of the Refer a Friend program which was shared by you.

Bonus Points will be allocated within 5 business days to you and your friend once your friend meets the eligibility criteria. While there is no limit to the number of friends you can refer under our Refer-a-Friend program, you will only receive Bonus Points for the first five (5) successful referrals you made in any month. A successful referral only qualifies you to receive one lot of 5,000 Bonus Points, irrespective of whether the person opens a single or a joint account. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer codes.

IMPORTANT: Please share your referral link or code responsibly and only refer close friends and family who are genuinely interested in a Virgin Money Go account or bundled Virgin Money Go Account and Boost Saver Account. You must not send unsolicited emails, direct mail, place messages on newsgroups, message boards and social media for purposes of referring a friend to open a Virgin Money bundled Go Account. You must not use any merchant site, keyword bids, black hat SEO, paid advertisements (e.g., pay per click), or other similar methods to solicit friends to open a Virgin Money bundled Go Account.

We reserve the right to suspend allocating Virgin Money Points, cancel Points already allocated and or terminate your participation in the Virgin Money Rewards Program if we reasonably believe you are breaching or have breached any of these Refer a Friend terms and conditions or if we reasonably believe that you are using your account and the refer a friend offer for the predominant purpose of earning points.

We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time without notice, provided that any Points that you have earned prior to such change or withdrawal will be subject to the terms that were in effect at the time it was earned.

    1. Welcome Offer Criteria: The Virgin Money Go Account comes bundled with the Virgin Money Boost Saver. New Virgin Money Go Account customers will receive 5,000 Bonus Virgin Money Points when they make one (1) debit card purchase, direct debit or BPAY payment from their Virgin Money Go Account in the first 30 days from account opening. Debit card purchases must settle in the first 30 days from account opening (not pending). Cash withdrawals, deposits, refunds, reversals or credits to the Virgin Money Go Account, Pay Someone payments and internal transfers are excluded. For customers who open a Virgin Money Go Account jointly with another person, the Bonus Points will be split and evenly allocated to both joint account holders of that account once the Welcome Offer Criteria have been met.     2. 80,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points offer is available to new and approved Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit Card account holders who apply by 30 September 2024. 80,000 Virgin Money Bonus Points will be awarded when $3,000 or more is spent on eligible transactions within 3 months from card approval (spend period). An eligible transaction means any purchase excluding Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, refunds and chargebacks, purchases of foreign currency and traveller's cheques, transactions made in operating a business, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges and government related transactions. Government related transactions include transactions with government or semi-government entities, or relating to services provided by or in connection with government (for example but not limited to transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court related costs). You will be charged interest at the Purchase Rate on retail purchases if you have a balance transfer.     3. Earn 1 Virgin Money Point for each $1 spent on Eligible Transactions. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn. Points will be transferred to your Virgin Money Rewards account within 15 Business Days after an Eligible Transaction has been processed by us. To earn and redeem Virgin Money Points, you must hold a Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Credit Card and add your credit card to your account profile in the Virgin Money app. Points earn and redemption are subject to the Virgin Money Rewards Terms and Conditions and the Credit Card Rewards Program for Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Cardholders Terms and Conditions. Eligible Transaction means any purchase excluding (but not limited to) Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, refunds and chargebacks, purchases of foreign currency and traveller's cheques, transactions made in operating a business, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges, and government related transactions.     4. Your total balance transfers may not exceed 80% of your credit limit. The balance transfer interest rate applies to balances transferred with this offer for the period shown, from the date the balance transfer is processed. At the end of the balance transfer period, the interest rate on any outstanding transferred balance will revert to the interest rate for cash advances, currently 20.99% p.a. on the Virgin Money Anytime Rewards Card and Virgin Money No Annual Fee Card, and 21.69% p.a. for the Virgin Money Low Rate Card. Interest rates are variable and subject to change. The interest rates are current as of 15 May 2024. This offer is available for new customers who apply by 24 June 2024. Please note that unless advertised otherwise, you are not entitled to any interest free days whilst you have a balance transfer. This means that all spend will be charged interest at the applicable ongoing purchase rate.     5. The promotional rate of 0% p.a. applies to retail purchases for the promotional period advertised from the date your account is approved. At the end of the promotional period, the variable annual percentage rate for retail purchases, currently 19.99% p.a. on the Virgin Money No Annual Fee Card will apply to any outstanding retail purchases and any new retail purchases. Please note you will not be entitled to any interest-free days on retail purchases at the end of the promotional period whilst you have a balance transfer. This means that all spend will be charged interest at the applicable annual percentage rate. Minimum monthly payments required. Payments will be applied to your account as per the Credit Card Terms and Conditions and Other Important Information. Please note that if you make a retail purchase before your balance transfer is processed, payments made during the Balance Transfer promotional period will be applied to the retail purchase balance before the balance transfer.
    6. The interest free period applies when you pay your full closing balance from your last statement of account by the payment due date (excluding any fixed payment option balance which isn’t due for payment by that payment due date). No interest free period is available on cash advances or balance transfers. Whilst you have a balance transfer you will be charged interest on your daily unpaid balance.
    7. Round-ups are transfers that you can elect to activate on your Go Accounts. By enabling this feature on your Go Account, funds are transferred from the selected Go Account to your nominated savings account each time you make a debit card transaction. The amount of the transfer will be up to the nearest $1 of the amount that the transaction takes place. Round-up transactions will not take place if by making the transaction your account would be Overdrawn. You can disable the round-up feature through the Mobile app at any time.
