How do you earn Velocity Points?

Earning Points with your Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer or Velocity High Flyer Credit Card is easy. When you use your credit card, Points earned on eligible10 everyday spend are automatically transferred to your Velocity account each month when your statement is issued{sub-heading}

Shop with Velocity’s program partners

Shop with any of Velocity's partners using your Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer or High Flyer card and you’ll earn Points twice - earn once for using your card and again with the partner. The amount you earn may vary by partner. Don’t forget to give the partner your Velocity number when you purchase.

Look out for Velocity’s bonus Points offers

Keep your eye out for bonus Points offers from Velocity, they’ll email you with partner offers giving you the opportunity to boost your Points balance and earn greater rewards.

1. Join Velocity Frequent Flyer for free

In order to earn Velocity Points, you will need to become a Velocity member. If you’re not one already, becoming a member is easy. It’s free, and only takes a few minutes. Simply visit the Velocity website and complete the Velocity join form.

2. Spend on your card

Use your credit card for eligible10 everyday spend. For purchases of up to $100, why not use Visa payWave. Just wave and go, making payments easy and convenient.

3. Points are transferred to Velocity

When we issue you with your monthly statement, all Velocity Points earned for that period will be transferred to your Velocity Account

4. Watch your Points grow

Log into your Velocity Frequent Flyer account to view the Velocity Points we transfer each month and keep track of your overall Velocity Points balance.

5. Enjoying your rewards

When you are ready, visit Velocity Frequent Flyer to start redeeming your Points for flights, accommodations, gift vouchers, online shopping, wine for a cosy night in and more.

You’ve earned your Velocity Points, so don’t forget to redeem them for the rewards you deserve. Velocity offers great choice and flexibility when it comes to redeeming your Velocity Points.  You can choose to redeem your Velocity Points for flights around Australia, flight upgrades, accommodation, or products via the Velocity Rewards Store. And when the time is right, you’ll be able to travel to your favourite locations overseas with Virgin Australia and Velocity’s international airline partners.

It’s important to know that the partners you can earn Points with may not allow you to redeem so it’s always best to check on the Velocity website.

Manage your Points balance

Your credit card statement will show you how many Points we have transferred to your Velocity account each month as well as the total number of Points since your card account was opened. To keep up to date with your overall Velocity Points balance log into your Velocity Frequent Flyer account where you can also redeem your rewards.

Always keep us up to date should your member number change for any reason so we can make sure all Points earned on your card are transferred to your Velocity account on time.

How are my Velocity Points earned and transferred in to my Velocity Frequent Flyer Account?

Velocity Points can be earned on Eligible Transactions10 and Virgin Australia spend41. At the end of your statement cycle, the Velocity Points earned for that period will be automatically transferred to your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account.

Do my Velocity Points expire?

Your Velocity Points will be transferred to your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account after each statement cycle. Once your Points are in your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account they will not expire as long as you’re an active Velocity Member, that is, a Member who earns or redeems Velocity Points within a two-year period. Is Velocity Frequent Flyer membership required?

Yes. In order for Virgin Money to transfer Velocity Points to your Velocity Frequent Flyer Account, you must provide us with your Velocity membership number either on your application form when applying for your Virgin Money Credit Card or by calling us on 13 37 39. If you're not currently a Velocity Member you can arrange this when you apply for your card or head to velocityfrequentflyer.com where you can join for free online. If you choose not to join Velocity Frequent Flyer, you will be ineligible for any offers or benefits relating to Virgin Australia or the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program.

What can Velocity Points be redeemed for?

You can redeem your Velocity Points for many things, here's just a couple:

  • Domestic and international flights with Virgin Australia, Virgin Samoa, Etihad Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America, Delta and more.
  • A range of great hotels, car rentals and products including gift cards and vouchers.
